Found a Great Rod Bag

Post by GregD »

I was having a little trouble finding a rod bag that would suit my needs, until I hooked up with the Pro-Locker company through a Google search.

I needed a bag that would hold up to 8 rods of lengths up to 8' long. Seemed like everything listed on the usual suspect tackle stores on the internet was 7'6" max. Then I found the Pro-Locker site...

http://www.prolocker.info/index.html

I was pretty happy with how the bags looked, but they also listed rod lengths up to 7'6". However, the fact that it seemed like a small company encouraged me to send an e-mail to see if they custom made longer versions. Turns out they do, and they actually had an 8' version in stock! They said they've made bags longer for people who needed them, so they could make any length I needed.

I ordered the bag and I've now received it and it is pretty slick. Durable construction and fits 8 fully rigged rods with no problem. Keep in mind that his is NOT a bag for shipping or using as luggage at the airport, etc, but it's great for schlepping your rods from the house to the car to a boat, etc.

Usual disclaimer... I'm not affiliated with Pro-Locker, just happy with their service and the hard to find product they sold me.

Just thought I'd pass this on in case anyone else was looking for something similar.

The problem with the Cabellas bag is it claims to be good for rods up to 7'. I needed one that could handle rods up to 8'.

Yeah, it came with the 8 rod tip divider so I'm not sure why they list it as an accessory. The divider gives me some peace of mind that the tips aren't banging around against each other.

Hey GregD, there is a local guy here in Ca. that can make you a personalized rod bag. Customize it the way you want, water resistant, fleece lined, etc. Get a hold of Steve Melander at www.berserkbaits.com. He came out with an awesome tackle bag also.
