SACRAMENTO, Cali. (KOVR) - An investigation is underway to find out how a seven-foot alligator was found along the Sacramento River in Northern California.
The reptiles are not native to the Golden State- Wildlife officials believe it may have possibly been someone’s pet and just outgrew its owner.

Re: 7-foot alligator was found along the Sacramento River
Back in the 50’s you could buy baby alligators in California pet shops,I know because I had one.
What happens when the gator get bigger it gets released into s local pond.
This is what happened, someone’s pet was released and survived.
Alligators self fertilize eggs so a gator this big more then likely has layer several batches of eggs that can hatch.
