Drift sock
Has anyone on the forum used a drift sock, and what was you experience. I have an aluminum boat, so the wind likes to move me around a lot.

Re: Drift sock
I to have an aluminum boat, and do use a wind sock. How much I use it all depends on the situation. Some days I won't use it on windy days, and others I will use it all day on mild winds. Does it work, for me yes, and I would never be without it. I use it as an aid to how I want to fish, not only for boat control.

That looks like a giant sock. Is it too big for a 17+' aluminum boat?

Re: Drift sock
There are 2 sizes one for up to 20' and the other for up to 30'. I use the one for up to 20' and it is adjustable.

THEY WORK GREAT
I use one at san luis when i am drifting minnow's when it get's windy. They make a ton of differance.I dont know how well they would work useing a trolling motor.I would think it would run your battery down faster.
