Dobyns rods

Post by tmulliken »

I'm looking for a new drop shot rod for deep water fishing, and a crank bait rod for the same conditions. Would like to buy Dobyns. What, in your opinion are the best values? Appreciate the help.

Tom for deep cranking, the McAbee Special is what you want..I am saving my money for one and should be able to get it soon..For the drop shot rod, I assune you are looking for a spinning rod..My drop shot rod is a bait caster rig, so I can't make a recommendation..

By the way congratulations on making the state team for CBF..

If you get the Extreme 701 spinning rod for dropshotting, you won't be sorry. And it doubles as a great dart head rod.

Tom...I needed a quality stick for deep diving crank baits for a trip to El Salto. I contacted Gary and he told me I would not be disappointed with Randy MacAbee rod he sells. He was absolutely right...it is an awesome tool for the job.

If you email or call Gary he is real good at giving you advice as to which rod works best for what you want to do with it. I currently own a "bunch" and they are awesome.

There is a cool program going on with Dobyns rods right now. You can win a brand new z521 just for buying or demoing a rod! Here is the link:

Fpr dropshotting, I like the 742 as well and for cranking, the Mcabee cranking rod is the ultimate.

Let me know what city you live in, I will find a dealer that can help you. there you can kick some tires and feel each rod to better help you. You also mentioned affordable; I like the Savvy Series Rods they are great.
