CA DMV - Kayak Trolling Motor Reg. Fee

Just FYI to those looking for heads up -

To put a 12v trolling motor on a plastic kayak the CA DMV wants $213.

Update 8/11: After some digging the DMV is telling me $100+ of that amount was them charging me sales tax on the kayak.

I guess that would make the fee around $100. Apologies for confusion.

Any type of vessel that is powered other than human powered is required to have CF #s, registration, and a mussel sticker if used in fresh water.
BTW, this thread is a couple years old.
