Anyone have one of these, either bow or stern mount? How do you like it?
Looks like a great cost effective option to a power pole or talon and no electrical and wiring to run.
Dig In Anchor System
Re: Dig In Anchor System
Rebirth of the pole anchoring technique. The original problem was wind or big wakes bending the poles and you couldn't pull them out of the holders.
Florida flats anglers use a push pole to move and anchore the boat, one angler fishes, the other poles, it has worked for over 100 years.

I have them on my skeeter 18' aluminum. I have 2-8' poles and 1-12' pole. The freight on the 12' pole was very expensive. I use them all the time and they work great.
Re: Dig In Anchor System
Thanks for the feedback. I also have an 18' aluminum boat and was considering a bow mount system and a 10' pole. Don't fish too much shallow water, but think that it could definitely help with some bed fishing. I like that it can easily be stored and out of the way and just like thats its an inexpensive option for a smaller aluminum boat.

Re: Dig In Anchor System
is the "weight of the pole" the only thing that holds u in place?? are there any locks, clips, jacks, anything like that??
its seems that with any sort of wind or waves, the weight of the pole wouldnt be enough to hold u in place. seems like it would drag. unless it was super heavy or locked in place or something
i dunno???

From what I can see you just push it into place and it "Digs In" to the sand, mud, etc. Looks like there are some great reviews on it, just don't know how it would hold up in rocks and the current of the Delta.
Re: Dig In Anchor System
They will anchor you if it is not a real hard bottom. A person could make the brackets real easy, the problem would be getting a pole that would be stong enough and work. The dig In anchor poles are solid fiberglass and they have a lot of flex to them. At times when it is blowing 15 to 20 mph I have to get on the electric and go forward to release them so they can be pulled out. I fish the Kings river, Kings Slough and Bass Lake primarily. At Mendota the wind blows most of the time and the pole works really well. With the 8" pole I can anchor in about 4 ' of water-my pole mount is on the front deck and is a couple of foot above the water. If I use the rear mount I can anchor in about 5' as it is mounted on the transom. The 12' pole adds 4' to the depth. With mounts on the front and back you can keep the boat in about any position when there are 2 persons fishing. At Bass Lake (sand and rock bottom) I use them to hold on some of the flat stuff and fish uphill and they work great in the brush piles and christmass trees.

They look like they would work pretty good. I like the trolling motor bracket one with a 12 ft pole. I fished in my buddies boat and he has the talon by minnkota and every time he puts that thing down it sounds pretty loud in my opnion. I would love to have a power pole but 900 bucks for a basic set up is pretty expensive especially since my boats only a superguide v-16.
