Dee Thomas explains the origins of the flipping technique.

Here's a segment that includes a portion of some filming that I did with Dee Thomas on the delta. If your interested in the history of bass fishing then you might like this. The part with Dee starts a few minutes in.

Thanks Justin, that was indeed very cool!

Having fished the Delta myself for more than 35 years, I've learned more about fishing this place from Dee the past 20 years, than any other resource available, outside of my own time on the water. He is indeed a wealth of information and it's great ta see him out there day in and day out doing what he loves most, fishing for bass!

The next time you guys hear me say, git off the bank, or don't waist yer time worrying about the tides, you now know where I git that from!

Ditto.... What Cooch said!

Dee has showed me more in the 20 plus years I have known him than any other resource. PERIOD!

One thing I learned from Dee is to keep it simple.
If you notice the man never has multiple rods on the deck of the boat.
just shut up and fish

Cool video;
I met Dee on Clear Lake years ago during one of our little club tournaments and at first my buddy and I were watching him work. We were amazed, we both said man that guy can flip/pitch really good. After awhile we got are nerve up and went up to him and talked to him, real nice guy. But watching that guy flip and pitch was more of an art, his bait touched the water as if you threw a ping pong ball in the water, unlike my buddy and mine that looked like we lobbed a hardball from 20-feet. He gave us a couple of tips and I've been hooked on flipping every sense. I still su ck but it's fun to target shot.
