Color Braided Line w/ Black Marker

Post by programgeeks »

Do you guys color your braided line w/ a black marker? I know a lot of guys do this, but do you think it help you catch more fish?

I wonder why they don't just color Power Pro lines black instead of moss green, red, yellow or white.

I believe its die, and all braid turns white eventually. Slice a grove in your Sharpie and be done with it.

It'd still fade and you'd still have to use a Sharpie. How many other forums are you going to ask the same question? :D

Are you asking me how many people I would like an opinion from? If that's the quesiton, then my answer would be: as many as possible.

The more opinions, the better decision one can make. Unless you are closed minded.

another benefit is that the dye makes the braided line temporarily stiffer, helps keep the line out of the hooks when walking a spook, etc. wears off pretty quick but it's a nice short term benefit. I hear that some use superglue to achieve the same stiffness.

You mean like all those folks who take Cooch's word as the set in stone gospel of bass fishing

forget that silly braid and get some 30 lb P-Line CXX, nothing else is necessary!
