Clear Lake Crankbait???????

Post by Lugnut »

Over the years I know there has been countless tournaments won out there on DD22 crankbaits. My questions is what color? :D

Search Bassfan.com or call anyone of the local tackle shops at Clear Lake with money in hand. There's easily 4-5 or more DD22 colors that win tournaments there that I know of. They'll be sure to sell you 1-2 of each. Knowing when and where to throw it and under what conditions is an entirely different topic.

I'm fairly certain you are asking about 131NC.

LUGNUT; THIS IS ONLY MY PERSONAL OPINION. I LIVED THERE 20 YEARS, AND THE BEST CRANKBAITS WE EVER USED WAS A RAPALA FATRAP CRAWDAD PERIOD, ALL DAY, ESPECIALLY IN WIND AND WAVES.

In my opinion the color is only really important to the fisherman..Chunk them enough and any of them will work..

The 165 has been money for years, but I think my old man and I have made them very familiar with it. So this year we have come up with the 165.50. Color and confidence on that lake is very important.

Thanks for all the info. Looks like I was on the right track as far as color. I was waiting to see if anybody would throw out the color of the DD22 that the Mcabee's were throwing, and the man himself throws it out there  . Thanks guys, come September I will be out looking for some rock piles and ledges......... :D
