another thing you can do to keep your carpet soft and clean (like how it was when you get new carpet) is use a cheap hair shampoo and scrub it in to your carpet then vacuum it out. i have not tried it yet but one of the guys at cap city marine told me that alot of people he has talked to have done it and it works great.

Terry - I use something you can get at the dollar store - called Awesome. This stuff is concentrated and cleans like nothing else. Wet your carpet down....spray awesome over the entire carpet......spray a little more where there are stains......let it sit for a couple of minutes.......scrub the stains.....then rinse it out.......it will take a while to rinse out but the added cleaner/flow will clean your bilge area as well.

I'll second the Awesome stuff. Learned about it right here from Gator. The stuff just works and you can't beat the price.

Your future Son-in-Law should be cleaning and waxing your BassCat already weekly !! .....If not.... you are Giving your daughter away for 50 cents on the dollar !!

Congrats again BrothA Terry ....... and replace that carpet already to start anew ... with a Triton this time !!

You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

Re: Clean boat carpet???
Use all the above and than get some Chemdry spray, the problem is when you have a real bad stain like I had on my Ranger, gear oil and 2 stroke mixed "don't ask" all you do it get the stain deeper and deeper into the carpet, what the Chemdry does on the very tough stains is pull it out, you spray it on and wait 30 seconds and use a terri cloth towl and stomp on it, it pulls the oil/stain out.
But trully, I think power spray washing is the best no matter what you do, it gets the oil/stain out from underneath, I had 4 stains from the size of orange to the size of an dinner plate and it got all 4 out, carpet looks like new.
