your choice but the eyes are equal to a $35 Berkeley Lightening Rod. Just a Thought. Plus it's ugly orange. You couldn't catch me dead with one of those. No cork handle either. Pro's it is very light in weight, not over priced and has good warranty.

I have one I'll sell ya. They aren't that bad, but I think they are more seen as a novelty. They are super light, and sensitive. I actually like the foam, but some don't. Guides are crap, but I can't really notice it. The orange stands out and looks cool in my opinion. I just like my Powells better :)

Friend had one up at Berryessa this week, and he got snagged on a rock and it broke in half like a twig. i would like to see if it will be covered or not. i will stick to other rods. Could of been a flaw or he wasn't to smart when he was snagged but it snapped.

I agree with the posts above, more of a novelty rod. The foam handle compresses when fighting a fish, not very comfortable. I'll stick with my St. Croixs, have not found a better rod yet. Garrett

Hay Frog,
What model do you have (length/action) i would definatley be interested in taking it off your hands, Also I grew up with the Dukes of Hazards and that compotition orange color is in my blood so I dlefinatley have no problen with an orange rod, is a matter a fact fluger has a new bait caster that is also orange, since all i fish with is flugers, well I guess I will have to ghet that also.

Thanks fellas for all the info that you have given me so far, i really appreciate it, I haven't signed one off yet but I need to see it one first.

Thanks again fellas.

bares41-
I had a 7'6 Simano Crucial that I busted on a Highesen fish. I took it to Randy at Escalon Bait and Tackle and $20.00 bucks he sent it in and 2 weeks later I had a new rod.I was happy. Each company is different. Call them and try, it won't hurt.

I recently won a 21 carat gold stix at my TOC. I wasnt too sure about it but it has turned out to be a pretty decent rod. It has cork handles and it feels nice. Its very light and i use it for most of my dart and shaky heads as well as tubes and split shotting. I think I will keep it. Sorry Moulton lol!

I have never bashed on any rod manufacture but, here it goes. The Carrot stix only cost $19.00 for E21 to manufacture. So just how much quality do you think is realy there. The new Phenix rods are made from T40 graghite blanks. They are lighter than the Steeze. They have SIC guides that alone cost more than the whole cost of the E21 rods. Supper sensitive. And Tlhey dont cost but half of the diawa steeze and about 1/3rd of the mega bass rods. Retail is $229.00 Save your money with E21 and buy a Phenix or even a Loomis or St.Croix. You will be worlds happier.

The rods are light and sensitive. I actually like the color but, the guides are garbage. Period. I would pay more for the rod if it had some good guides on it. I too like cork, the foam feels o.k. just not sure how it would look or feel after a few years. If it is true that they cost under 20 to produce they should invest in some better guides. I bet the bigger guys (Loomis, Shimano) make their rods for that much probably even cheaper. I can go buy a Clarus for 69.99 that has way better guides than a carrot.

I have had one for about a year now. I use it for throwing DD22 and the large Poe's Super Cedars. I don't get out on the water as much as you guys. But, it has worked well and seems to be holding up well. Would I buy another one.........one is good. As far as the color / looks, it's not any uglier than some of the women I have seen you guys with......... :D

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Wait and go to the ISE shows and feel some rods. I hear the New Dobyns are going to be at the Sac. show (fingers crossed) and they are going to be sick! Go around to all of the booths and feel them all. Then you can make the right choice.

You guys are something else, The fact is Carrot Sticks are a good buy for the $ if you break one all you have to do is take it back and it is replace for free . Also they have only had a 2% break record so far. They also make a higher quality rod that cost a little more that has better components built into the rod.
People buy rods that fit them and not all rods feel the same to every one. So why would anyone bash some one else‘s product. We have enough problem getting sponsors the way it is and this type of talk doesn’t help. I personally have 18 Carrot sticks and have not had any trouble with any of them. I also would not trade them for any other rod out there. I hope this doesn’t upset anyone but it’s just my 2 cents.

He has 18 of them, what do you think? Also we are just letting people know about a product. I would want to know as a consumer if i'm buying a good product or not.

Had one 7'9" carrotstick swimbait rod for throwing mission fish and the like. Had it for one month and sold it. Didnt feel comfortable. Balance point was off on the rod and just didnt feel right in my hand. I have since jumped all over hte old series Dobyns rods and I love them. I second what Mike says. I can't wait for the new Dobyns lineup to come out in a couple of weeks. I will most definitely be redoing my rod lineup. I absolutely love the Dobyns Mike Long Swimbait Rod 795ML. It kicks all time butt and at a great price. Just great quality rods that can take abuse. I use my equipment alot and I dont take the greatest care most of the time but the Dobyns rods have held up well for me. They are sensitive, affordable, and durable. I know there were some breakage issues wth the old line of rods but all the rods I own are tested, abused and still work great. Can't wait for the new ones!

Agreed.

I'd always rather hear from the average every day angler about a product than a prostaffer. It's a pro staffers job to hype their product.
