Cabela's guide wear or Tourney trail rain jacket?
Cabela's guide wear or Tourney trail rain jacket?
I'm trying to find which of these two jackets has a better cuff seal so, that when your fishing in the rain the water doesnt soak up your sleeve.

I have used Cabelas signature gear for a few years now and it has been great in some serious down pours. But one thing you should add with any kind of rain gear is tennis wrist bands, they will keep the water from coming up the arm.

Just bough cabelas guidewear300 and i really like it. It has a rubber/neoprene piece sewed into the inside of the sleeve. I didn't use it in a real downpoor yet but I'm comfortable it will do the job. Also the tennis wrist bands are a great idea for additional protection.
Hope this helps,

Thanks for the input guys. About the tennis wrist bands , dont they just absorb water to eventually let the water run down your arm or is there a waterproof type. I think the last time I fished in the rain it really came down hard and it rained all day. I had on a jacket that I had for about 8 years more and I was drenched and freezing cold, thing is I didnt even know I was as wet as I was. I thought just my forearms were all wet but my entire arm and my shoulders and my chest were soaked. So, with that much water coming down my sleeve I can see the wrist band getting entirely soaked. Guess you could always wring it out. I can say one thing, "Dont" compromise on rain gear. I'm still tossed up on which gear "Guidewear or Tourney Trail by Cabela's. Or what about the new Frabill gear anybody have any reviews on theirs. I know for a longtime a lot of guys wore the Cabela's gear and everyone seem to be pretty happy with it so......

I've had the guidwewear for a year now and worn it in some pretty heavy rain and stayed warm and dry. Don't skimp on whichever you decide, nothing more miserable than being cold and wet on a cold winter outing.

I just bought the Cabela's Guidewear, haven't sat in the rain or fished with it on yet but I am impressed with the quality

I'm a big fan of the Guide wear. Mine are 10 years old and still zip and velcro good. Sleaves are velcro and good. I use the insulated bibs and a non isulated jacket. Wear two layers on the bottom and three up top. Good shoe/sock combo and you should be good to go.
