Broken trolling motor cable

Post by mm »

Two minutes before our bass club`s blast off yesterday, one of my cables broke.
I went to the Hook at Russo`s and purchased a new set then called Gene at the Hook in Oakley, he told me to come on in and he would get it taken care of.
What a great guy. He stopped what he was doing to get me back on the water asap.
Not many guys would have done that.
We were back on the water by 10:00.
Gene, his staff, and all the people at Russo`s were all very good to all of us this past weekend.
Thanks again.

Yup, Gene fixed my TM in a jiffy and even fixed the red direction light that never moved since I got the boat.

Not that hard to replace. Did mine in about an hour when the shop did it the first time they did it in 1/2 hour. All you tools you need is a reg and a phillip ( stub ) screw driver.
.Also a long nose plier to take off those 2 C lock rings. Becareful on those as they have a tendecy to fly off when putting them back on.

Good morning Gene, I was feeling ornery this morning. I seen you on-line and could not resist.

Gene saves someone's butt every week. Great service and tackle shops. If your traveling long distance, you can make an appointment and he'll fix it while you wait, or you could just buy a Minnkota. :D :D

Gene will always help you out in a fix if you can't do it yourself. Always hear from guys he had help in emergency situation so spend your money in his shop and not that mail order place or that new one in Manteca.
