Breaking news!Dottie the 25.1lb Dixon bass found dead.

Post by Grolsch Man »

I have to believe that there is another huge toad female over 20lb in CA that is just waiting to take her place.

RIP Dottie.

Guess i was wrong, i figured the fish had died last year since the guys chasing her spent so much time up here in OC. There will be another harrased every year elsewhere soon!!! I would have rather seen the fish caught in "feeding" mode however i guess i wouldnt pass it up on a bed either if given the chance!!!!

Personally, I am glad to see she went out on her own and not on the end of a stringer waitiing to be certified. A fish that big, after being caught as many times as she had and providing so much entertainment for so many bass fishermen, deserved to die on her own.

thats sucks.... on a brighter note.. maybe the lake can go back to its normal self and not have 45 million rental boats on it now.. i remember the pre dottie days when you could show up at noon and have 3 bass guys on the water... sucks to hear she went.. what an awesome fish.

I thought the would have died from being snagged last year, good to see she survived the handling. Maybe we will finally know the lenght/girth numbers and how old this bass was. Dottie was a true giant and I dought that another bass will grow to 25 lbs., and 22+ becomes are real possibility agian.

Strange... early last week I was wondering what might have happened to that fish, and now the answer. Surprised no one's caught her since Jed. Perhaps that goes to show an old bass is a wise bass (no pun intended). There will be another some day.
Fishing is not a matter of life or death.
It's more serious than that!
