I did it a few times last fall and hammered em. I watched the video here on this website and had to try it so one day in October I had the boys out catching gills and I kept a few in the livewell to try it. On an incoming tide I set up on the downcurrent end of a long tule berm just pitched em in the current seam and controlled the boat normally with the TM. It didn't take long. First you feel the bluegill get nervous and then they take off with it. Big fun!! I stuck 4 that first day (and let the boys reel em in) and then ran out of bait. The smallest was 9lbs. I did it a few more times with even greater success over the next few weeks. The days I liked best were an outgoing in the am when I would load up the livewell and then run to my spot to catch the first part of the incoming. Tackle and rig is simple. A flippin stick with 20lb mono, 2/0 octopus with a 1/4oz or so split shot about 18 inches up. Hook through the top of the mouth and out one of the nostrils. It really is a blast and I'm sure it would work anywhere the stripes stack up. The one drawback was that a few of the fish I caught took the bait too deep and I could not release them. Size of the bait doesn't matter either. I had 8lb fish inhale red ears as big as my hand! Hope you try it. Mike
