For most baits I replace them with Owner "Stingers".

Owner ST-41 2X trebles. They are like claws and when they grab, fish do not come off........... They are the same as the stock hooks on the wake jr. I used to use the stock ms slammers and stock ac minnows with stock hooks, but they do bend out. I have since changed all of mine to the ST-41s and those hooks dont bend at all. They are a heavy hook and should not be used on any finesse type bait where hook weight will affect the action of the lure. I like these cuz when you fish a locked drag with heavy line, its nice to know that your hooks are not going to give.

Owner ST-36 Stingers. They are heavy enough to stand up to use with low-stretch braided line. I've never even partially straightened one... Unlike back in the old days when I usaed Gamy round bends. I use the 2/0's on Huds and MS Slammers.

IMPO, the 41's are a bit heavier than needed for freshwater use / fish, but the slightly curved in cutting point (which used to bother me) is actually a pretty good design, which holds them well, once they are hooked.
I might use these if I wanted to use a smaller hook, but wanted to keep my wire diameter from dropping too much. I have a buddy who uses them quite successfully for Sturgeon.

Hey Quasi,

Whatever brand you choose, make sure you don't get it stuck in your leg.

Thanks for the tips, and yes Sean a Lucky Craft treble hook does not feel good. Was not fun gettin' it out.
