Best Portable Digital Scale

Post by Mike H »

The time has finally come to replace my digital scale and I was wondering which one you considered the best and why?

I'm looking for one that is accurate and will last more than one season.

Thanks all.

I have no idea what the best one is, but Ill report on my Rapala digital scale. I find it weighs in light, and often runs the battery down quickly. I have two other scales, based on a spring setup and while I use them less often, I suspect they would be prone to being inaccurate as well.

I have two, a cul-m-rite and unit I bought at Kmart for around 12 bucks and uses a 9v battery. Tested both at home with a 10lb weight and both were spot on. My advise - don't spend a lot of money, test at home often and change batteries when needed. Testing at home will give you confidence that your getting the right reading on the water.

minus 1 for XTools.......I hate mine. Dang thing has never been "dead on" and doesn't cull correctly. I only use the most accurate weighing device there is now........a BALANCE BEAM.

The X-Tools Grip N Weigh pro series looks good for tournament anglers.
I use the Ultrasport 30 from Jennings.

This is a very accurate , good quality, compact hand held digital scale with a tape measure. The key to digital scale accuracy is the battery life. I have used this scale for 2 years without any issues, very accurate within .01lb.
