best hook for wacky rigging senkos
Whats the best hook out there right now? I'm finally running down to my last couple ww hooks.

Re: best hook for wacky rigging senkos
These hooks work very well for me. I dunno what it is but they really help the action.

Problem is they bend pretty easy.

Yeah, I miss those W.W. hooks too. I did have the point roll on a couple of them, but overall they were my favorite.
I'd say the best would be...
- Falcon Unweighted Weedless "K" Wacky Hook
- Gamakatsu Wide Gap Finesse Hook Weedless
Another option is to make your own. The W.W. hook is actually the Gamakatsu Shiner Hook, Up Eye (http://www.gamakatsu.com/catalog/shiner.htm). All you need is some thread or braid, heavy mono, and either epoxy or superglue. There's a thread somewhere that has some more detailed info on how to make them.

one more for the jackal flick shake hooks!! They do bend out after a few good fights like biteme sais but they do have weed guard and the hook up ratio is pretty good. Not the answer to all applications but most.

what size hook and what size senko are you pairing up? I got some flick shake hooks and i can only limit my imagination to using the smaller/thinner senkos. unless you are using a o-ring..

Re: best hook for wacky rigging senkos
Do you have to use the original Senko when wacky rigging? I understand that the OG Senko has the perfect amount of salt etc etc. But I was wondering if that all still plays into it when wacky rigged?
I hope that question made sence

I prefer an oring and a #2 or 4 Owner drop shot hook.

I like the Owner #2 mosquito hooks for open water, and the Gamakatsu weedless #2 for brushy areas.

That is what I use also. If I can't find those I use a Eagle Claw hook that looks the same but is not a wide gap. That is the only set back.Marty wrote:This is what I have been using for my wacky rigging set up with a senkos

Please don't get off !!!
Re: best hook for wacky rigging senkos
I also use the Eagle Claw Kahle when I can’t find Falcon Weedless "K" Wacky Hooks. What is really neat about the Eagle Claw Kahle is the point of the hood is off center looking down on top of the hook.
I use both hooks with the 5in and 7in Senko when wacky rigging.

Re: best hook for wacky rigging senkos
I have been using these this year and they work good but the weed guard is a little flimsy after a few fish or heavy vegitation.
