Best Bass Boat cover

Post by bruizer343 »

I did it. Bought a bass boat after much waiting and watching the classifieds and the like.

My boat will spend 98% of it's stored time on a hoist exposed to the elements of all kinds. :( I do have a dock cover but it dosnt provide the protection a good cover does.

So I ask the experts of Western Bass.com whats the BEST cover ?
My budget is wide open for this item.

thanks,

Back in 97 when I purchased my Basscat it came with a cover made by Aurora and its still holding up today. It's a great cover. Here is a link for Aurora Canvas. http://www.auroracanvas.com/

I've had three bass boats on the hoist in Discovery Bay. The first boat used a generic cover from BPS. It lasted about two seasons then tore.

The other two covers were factory covers from the boat companies....Ranger and Champion. Both covers served the boat well and did not tear. Expect the cover to last about 4-5 seasons if you expose the boat to the elements.

The weather in Disco has its extremes. It's very moist in the winter due to the fog and very hot in the summer. The color of the fabric will begin to wear after two years.

Don't skimp on the cover. A quality cover will run $400+ very easily. Congrats on your boat.

I believe it’s the Dockside. It’s defiantly waterproof mildew and uv resistant. Ask for Brian or Jason at 888-997-2218 they can help you out. The only thing I need to replace are the some of the clips and there about $2.00 a piece. Good luck.

This cover back in 97 ran about $500.00 + I'm glad I got it during the purchase of the boat.

Thanks Long. I bought a expensive cover for my flats boat and it was worth every penny. The fit is my main concern, the way my dock faces I get wind right at the engine.

Thanks all. Im trying to get an informed choice. The auroa canvas place seems good and instock.

I'm keeping my budget open on this item, I figure its a no brainer, being my boat is out exposed to all delta elements natrual and otherwise.

bruizer,
when my original cover finally gave out, i went and bought a custom fitted boat cover online at this site.
http://www.boatcoversdirect.com

from a recommendation of a friend, i got the sunbrella material. its expensive, but i am extremely happy with it. its been 100% water tight; my old one wasnt.

The fit is perfect and they send you all the straps with it. you even tell them exactly what motor you have for a hood cover, and what trolling motor (MG or MK) and which side when ordering.

I would give them a try.

ps - somehow they even sent me 2 covers for the price of 1, so that was even a sweeter deal! maybe you'll also be as lucky.
Nobody remembers who came in 2nd place. Fish Hard - Play Hard!
