Ya Tahoe does have some bass in it. I live about 20 minutes away and when i have a weekend with no tourney or pre-fish i will go up there. Tips: the keys are the only portion of the lake that contain bass, in this section of the lake the water is much shallower and somewhat secluded allowing it to warm to temp's able to accomadate bass. There are actually some quality fish and they can be caught fairly easy due to the low fishing pressure. Normal techniques will produce... just remember 4-strokes only on entire lake.

Someone mentioned to me once that there were bass down around the Tahoe Keys area. I've never seen any, but then again Tahoe's not my #1 for bass. My guess with the COLD water, they'd tend to be Smallies. Good luck, and expect a full report when you return!!! 8)

A few years back I went up to Tahoe to do a drywall repair job on a Condo on the Keys. The water in the Keys had just reached 60. It was June and the bass were just on beds. I hit a 4 and a 6 lb from the bank and a few other smaller fish. The 4 lb fish had a 7" white fish in it's belly. There was a bunch of fish in the 4 to 5 lb class and they looked to be all Northern strain ( smaller mouth), fat football bass.

Best of luck to ya!
Don.

Yes, I have seen them with my own eyes! Bass, bluegill, and crappie - in the keys. Talked to one of my clients this year who lives there and said he caught a 7 pound largemouth. I heard a rumor that there weres some bass in Emerald Bay - maybe? If bass can live in northern frozen lakes, I assume they can live in the keys!

Read a story on bass in Tahoe . Seems a man moved there many years ago and missed bass fishing so he had some bass shipped to him and planted them in the lake. Jack

I have some friends who live in South Lake Tahoe (for about 25 years). They are builders. I was up there in May and they had a house going in the keys. You could see the bass and bluegill swimming around. They always tell me about catching them in there all the time.
I will be back up there in a couple weeks for some Mack fishing with them...and a little bass action mixed in.
