Bass boat Names

Post by Ba-Ba-Bass »

I have heard that all boats should be named. I am getting a newer used boat here soon and I would like to know some names of ya'lls boats so I can get some ideas. Or how do you come up with a name?

My partner calls mine the "BASS CRAPPER" its A BassCat and of course you guessed it he is A "Danger Ranger" owner. He is just mad because my 18' with A 150 opti runs right along with his 19' 5" with A 200 opti

Back in the 80's there was a competitor, who still pops up from time to time I believe, who named his boat kind of sort of after his wife. He called his Ranger bass boat Diana's Dilemma.

Bass boats don't usually get painted on names.

Although, I used to call my motor on my little boat "Evan Rude".

It sounded great, winding up like the wrestling annoucers,

"AND IN THIS CORNER, EVAN RUUUDDDEEE!!!"

"OUR CHALLANGER, MINN KO TAAAAA!!"

The new boat at weigh in time, is refered to in my very best Dan Aykrod Blues Brothers impression as "Our Blessed Lady of Acceleration".

"Our Blessed Lady of Acceleration, DON"T FAIL ME NOW!"

And we roar off to weigh. Cutting corners, jumping wakes, and pulling my best "Swindle" through the anchored cruisers. The in pursuit Sheriff's boat just adds to the exciting Blues Brothers/Dukes of Hazzard visual. :D

The first real Bass Boat I ever saw was back in the 60's on Lake Amador. it was named, " The Happy Hooker". What a great boat, the first time we saw swivel seats. Oh Baby.

My little aluminum boat was named " As the Worm Turns" after the old TV soap opera.

My father was a career law enforcement chaplain, and for 18 years he was on call 24/7.

He named is first fiberglass bass boat "E.C.O.," short for Emergency Call Out. That way when a call came in, mom could say that he was "On Emergency Call Out" and buy him some time to respond.

That always cracked me up.

You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

I always wanted to name my boat "shoulda been my 1st wife". My trailer had personalized plates "5NCULLN" , but permananent tralier plates made more sense than paying extra for personal plates.

I kind of like "Sancha" which is girlfriend/mistress in Spanish. Just don't name it "Sancho" which is boyfriend/man-tress.

Forest Wood already put the name on the side of the boat...so the boat in this case named the driver
