Attention Roboworm Users

Post by Kevin McNichols »

I live in Gilbert AZ, and out here drop-shotting is really a essential technique for catching our highly pressured fish.
What I would like to do is trade some of our local color roboworms for someone else's local color roboworms. Out here we have a few baits shops that commission Roboworm to make AZ specific colors.

For example, available locally from Roboworm are the following colors:
1- Salt River Craw- red w fuschia flake/mustard stripe/ green bottom
2- Arizona Dragonfly- Transparent blue with a pearlish quality
3- Pleasant Special- Designed for Lake Pleasant Amber with gold flake
4- Pleasant Special 2- Same as above with red/green flake

1,3, and 4 are available in 4.5" and 6" straight tail. 2 is available only in 4.5" straight tail.

Thank you in advance,
Kevin Mcnichols

Buying direct

Post by Kevin McNichols »

These AZ colors were commissioned by Waterdog Willy's here in Phoenix and subsequently picked up by other LOCAL tackle shops. I tried this approach several years ago but Roboworm will only sell the special orders to the stores that ordered them or the other stores that will agree to a large order. I don't remember the exact figure but it was not practical to order that many worms.

My friend, Chris Love worked out a deal with someone through Basswest and received a "perris punisher" and the "army" worm, which both proved effective here in the valley. By using that rationale I was hoping that some of our local colors here would be useful to other regions as well. That way we could help each other out to catch a few extra fish here and there.

I have a bunch of Salt River Craw

We got them from Robo but had to order 100 packs. It was hard to get it approved but we did it. I don't worm fish much but I hear that the Pleasant special 1&2 work great on our waters too. It might be worth a try for you worm throwers.

The salt river craw in 6" is a killer at Canyon Lake at night.

Angler's Marine

I saw at least some of those on the "new colors" display at Angler's Marine. Definitely the dragonfly color, and I'm pretty sure about the others, as well.
