What's your guys take on all terrain tires vs. all season tires for towing and pulling a boat?...And, thinking about boat ramp situations, too...Do you still get good gas milage with the all terrains?...How about the guys up in the Motherlode?...All terrains or all season on your trucks?...Swaying towards all terrains but need any input...
Thanks...
Thanks...

First, I would get BF Goodrich. Second, unless you are going to be driving through alot of Mud or Snow get the all seasons. They will last longer............. I only buy all terrains anymore, but I spend ALOT of time hunting in the Winter out if state and in state and I hate putting on chains.

If you want a good all terrain tire with the best warranty and best price go to America's Tire and get the Dominators great tire for on and off road.

Re: All Terrain vs. Highway All-season tires?
I have been through 2 sets of BFG's A/T Ko's in less than 55k miles.
I just went to Toyo A/T's from Les Schwab for some E rated (10 ply's) for $250 a pop just yesterday -- and I had to replace the upper/lower ball joints and align as well on the passenger as there was 3/4" of travel.
Nuttin but a'nother $1200 Awwww Chit ... and I decided to replace only two tires for the time being.
Cheapest I could find the BFG A/T ko's for was $270 at Costco - but they can not get any ~ and the factory will not start producing them for another 6 weeks. Les Schwab was $284 a tire and America's was $286 Yet neither could get the tires I needed..........
Now I need to start working some overtime to get back to even.

You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

Re: All Terrain vs. Highway All-season tires?
I gave up the Goodrich TA/KO tires because I only got 13000 miles on the last set and Discount gave me a $150 per tire allowance. I went to the Yokohama Geolanders and really like the tire. My buddy has 25000 on his set now and still going good. They were $170 per tire. I used to run Bridgestone Duelers and those were also a good tire. Those are high prices over there for tires. My Goodrich TAKO were like $210 per tire here for a 285/75/16 E range. I always run all terrains because of hunting and they do hurt mileage by 1-2 mpg.

I've got Toyo A/T's on my 1500 Silverado, great tires! Excellent traction on boat ramps, dirt, sand, but they definitely are not a rough tire. You don't feel them on the road...but like DeltaDan said, ~$250 each, none too cheap, but they are a great tire!

Re: All Terrain vs. Highway All-season tires?
I have a pair of BF Goodrich Radial Long Trail Light truck tires and have been more than happy with them, good grip on launches and off roading, good load capacity and smooth on those long road trips. I love them and my next set of tires will surely be BFG's

Re: All Terrain vs. Highway All-season tires?
Going to pick up a set tomorrow as a matter of fact of the BF Goodrich Long Trail TA's for $143.00 @ America's Tire. I got 53K out of my Michelin LTX A/S but don't want to spend the $200.00 a tire.
I sure wish that I would have done a 5 tire rotation instead of 4, would have saved me another few miles for sure.

Re: All Terrain vs. Highway All-season tires?
I've been running Bridgestone Duelers for the last 15 yrs on my Bronco and Tahoe 4x4's. I get 75-80k miles a set !!! Just rotate and balance them every 10k miles. Great traction and they don't sing going down the hwy. Great price at Discount tires and they offer a lifetime rotate, balance and align package too.

What model # Bridgestone Duelers are you running Mitch?...
Re: All Terrain vs. Highway All-season tires?
I finally settled on the Firestone Destination AT's . You can find lots of reviews on the web. Good tires less than 800.00 out the door. Mounted, Balanced, and Road Hazard.
