The instructions that come with Active Target do not provide good details about how to assemble the knobs and the bracket. Almost all that I see in the field are not assembled properly, and I hear all the time about people losing a knob in the lake from it falling out.
Here is the fix, and you will find by mounting like this the transducer can easily be switched between down view and forward view without even touching the knob. Simply twist the transducer two clicks.
All the parts in this video are included with the transducer in the packaging...most just don't realize how they can be used. Here is the link to the YouTube video
