Abu Garcia Veritas Series Rods
I just purchased a AG Veritas Rod. I really like the 7' Medium power Fast action rod for cranking 2'-14' cranks. I like everything about these new rods and the price is great. My question is out of all the Veritas rods what would you think is there best model for 2-14 ft. cranks and what model for DD cranks. Im very bad at knowing what correct rod to use for what application. Maybe I should just go out and fish and not worry much. Thanks for any input.

I believe all the Veritas rods are graphite and I really like the action of a glass rod for crankin. There are alot of rod companies making "Glass Rods" but I dont believe the Abu Veritas is one of them. I aso know the are some companies making Graphite rods specifically for crankin as well but I am not sure how they perform. I own the St Croix premier class crankin rods and I love them. I go longer and a little heavier rod for the deep divers. Good luck and I hope my 2 cents helped even if only a little.

Since you asked the question about the veritas specifically there isnt any point to change brands on ya. You chose the right rod for the small to medium cranks. For the heavier one such as the DD22s I would believe the rod you would like would be the VRC76-6 7'6" MH. It has a longer handle for making those really long casts. You definately cant beat the price that is for sure.

I'm selling all my rods and switching over to these. I love the feel. I have two now. I'm hoping they come out with more spinning rod choices this summer. I think they are. I'm going to use a medium moderate for cranking.
