2009 WON BASS SO. PRO AM SCHEDULE

Post by Bill Hutcheson »

Regarding the proposed 2009 WON BASS Southern Pro Season.

First of all - an automatic 600 lb penalty and last flight out status for the next WON BASS tournament Pete fishes for being a knucklehead and launching prematurely. I think I’ll have to write a special “Knuckleheadâ€

That's it...Hutch for President! F the naysayers. In my little circuit I run, I've noticed that the most vocal guys are the ones who don't even fish my events.

Bill, props to you for breaking all of this down to the peanut gallery. Personally, I think the new schedule is awesome and I think the numbers will reflect it. Good job!

Can you write any more Hutch? I was falling asleep during your nivel.... For Gods sake man!!

So what is the schedule for the 09 proams??
.
.
.
.hehehe...

Seriously though, I think that this schedule rocks. And not just because I like the lakes but for several reasons..
1. Closer lakes means no Hotel cost.
2. closer lakes means no 3 1/2-6 hour drive accross the desert at the end of the weekend.
3. Closer lakes means us SoCals dont have to get killed by the cost of gas to go to and from 2 of the three proams.

Tighter money made it impossible for me to fish the proams this past year because the cost of gas alone would have hurt.
It will be interesting to see how many Desert guys show up and continue their support of WON since 2 of the 3 events are NOT in their back yards. My guess will be that alot of those guys will find themselves in the same shoes as us So Cals were in this year and they wont make the trip accross the desert.
Yeah I think Shawn B., the Goodwins and a couple other will be there but we'll see about everyone else.

Hutch instead of docking me lbs. you should be thanking me for getting the buzz started for the approaching year... You will soon realize that you made a great schedulling decision grasshoper.

Dont let the naysayers get to you about this...
EP will still make his way down because he has to check on his kids that Billy is raising and while hes here it will give him a chance to see Bills mom to bathe her. And Bill will also be there with all the drama that follows him. He gets his proams for free and he complained...geeezzzz...ungrateful sucka!

I'll be in within a couple weeks to pay my cheese for the whole series.

Oh by the way Hutch....can you get more into detail about what you just wrote.....okay maybe not!! See you soon!

Some people like to hear themselves talk. I like to hear myself write.

O.K. Pete - you are now down to a 25lb deduction. Keep working at it and you may be down to 2lbs come tournament time.

Hutch, You did fine on this schedule. You did give us desert nuts
a good one last year also. It was by no means your fault the num
bers were bad. I still say this sh%$y economy started in mid 07.
Thats the real reason for the bad numbers.
Anyway its exciting to go to a couple lakes you don't fish much,
and should be a real challange compete 'n with the locals ham
mers. So again good job on your part.

Pete I talked to Hutch and he told me you had to give me 10lbs
a day at dv then your off the hook, thanks in advance....MG

Hey guys and gals,

The big thing now is make sure that you get out to support these events when they happen. Talk to your fellow anglers and let 'em know that it's time to step up and support our regional Pro Ams if we expect to have them down the road.

We'll do our best to support you guys on the Won Bass Pro Am circuit by getting down there to add some relevant coverage of the events as they happen with photos and chats running during the events and movies going up online after the days events wind down.

We'll step it up and we hope the anglers will too!!!

Looking forward to getting back in action with the WON BASS Pro-Am's. Mr. Kramer, better get your pencil sharp because you'll be seeing a lot of me again!!! Hey MG, if Pete will give you 10lbs a day a DV will you give me 14lbs at Havasu? Better yet, I'll give you 14lbs at DV for 14lbs at Havasu!!!!! See ya all at Havasu in November!!!

Actually, when you work for a publishing company, you get used to pumping out text pretty quickly. 30-45 minutes is probably more on the mark.

I have you penciled in for all three events Guy.

Bill, thanks for the early warning. I will support WON Bass next year, as I have this year, as I don't know of a better learning environment with such rich talent pools, smooth operation, and good paybacks. You and your staff do a wonderful job and I've enjoyed every one I've fished.

My only concern about DVL is the low water condition, expected usage this summer, and potential for continued drought. I'll be praying for lots of rain this winter for sure! I'm sure the 'local' schedule will have huge impact to the draws you get, and I look forward to more learning from top-level Pros next season.

Hutch well done.
Pete you boob we as tournament directors do not put our schedules out until after we have permits. The schedule is not set until D.F.G. says so.
We go to a jamboree and have to make sure we have no conflicts on the same lake. It takes all day for us.
We do not like our dates out ahead of time because some people make it tough for us to get the dates we want.
We try and keep it between ourselves that way some don't see it and schedule right on top of it.
Keep the 5 pound penalty and Give Goodwin a pound for D.V.L. and the same for Castaic since he will make the drive.

well done hutch, it seems like a fine schedule, I was really hoping that won bass would go back to dvl again, i enjoyed that last pro am there. As for castaic i have never been there, but i guess i will have to make some trips now. Its an awesome schedule if you live in socal, but I will still make the drives from vegas to fish in a wonbass pro am, and I wont complain about any gas prices. Where can someone fish for a 500.00 entry fee, two days of fishing, and bring home 30,000, and a new boat. Do the math, these events should be sold out. I will put my deposits in. Thanks Hutch for giving us an awesome schedule and standing by your anglers. I was getting sick of fishing mead. One more thing, how come there are no more proams on lake mohave?

Hutch. Good schedule. Question: Will the 1/2 off entry perk still be in effect for 2008/09?

The other point that is being missed here

Post by John Barron »

When you put out a schedule people plan their time. If the schedule is not confirmed and it changes people get mad for changing the schedule even though it's not your fault.

That is one of the biggest reasons for not putting a schedule out prior to confirmation there is a chance it's going to change. When we get to the DFG Jamboree if some one wants one of the same dates as Hutch it goes to a coin toss. If hutch looses he has to move his dates and maybe the venue. Other dates have been set and now you can create a conflict.

As a tournament director I've seen it happen and it's happened to me. Even though we try to work with the other org's there is just not enough weekends or water.
