2000 Nitro 700 LX - it has problems so is practically free

Post by grozycki »

I have a semi-reliable 2000 Nitro LX with a minn kota 101 trolling motor, humminbird matrix 17 (nothing fancy, but it has GPS) and Humminbird 565 on the front, with a 75 HP tracker (mercury marine) motor that I need to get rid of. Essentially you are paying for the hull and the trolling motor and batteries ~ 8 months old, as this boat has some significant issues (like an engine that is not super relieable):

Problems:
1. The motor starts up no problem when you first go out, but is not always reliable at starting up after you've run to your first or second or third spot. I have had a bunch of work done on it, but can't seem to figure out what is wrong. Seems like the motor gets flooded with gas for some reason, so if you wait long enough it starts up again. But i have had to be towed in before...

2. The trailer is shot. it has rust spots and just the other day essentially failed outright (the tongue bent). So it cannot be safely towed away a long distance.

3. The livewell pumps don't work

4. It has seen its fair share of Delta dust that has built up over the years, but in general the hull is in good shape (there is one area at the rear where a Delta rock hiding just under the surface chipped the hull)

Upside:

If you are mechanically inclined and want to take a shot at fixing the motor, or just want a cheap local boat to keep in the water at your home on the delta, or are willing to get a used trailer for a coupld hundred $, then this is your boat!

Basically selling for $400 (because that what the donation company said I would get in tax write-off), but if you can get it soon, then i may be able to be talked down!
ill upload photos later today
