IGFA Women’s Line Class World Record for the species

On November 20, 2022, Catherine Jones was fishing off a dock in Pungo Creek, North Carolina, when she landed this massive 5.07-kilogram (11-pound, 3-ounce) spotted seatrout. The fish struck a live menhaden and was landed after a 15-minute fight. With this seatrout Catherine can potentially set the IGFA Women’s 10-kg (20 lb) Line Class World Record for the species. This record is currently pending and under review.
