Bass Cat at Boatmasters
There are many choices when it comes to bass boat brands and even more options when it comes to dealerships. Much of the decision process will come down to personal preference and location.
If you are in the market for a quality bass boat, Boatmasters in Livermore is the second-largest Bass Cat dealer in the country. They chose Bass Cat because it aligns with their goal to be the best in everything they do.
Quality is Goal Number One
Boatmasters is dedicated to providing the best quality and service possible to its consumers, according to Sales Manager Nate Chandler.
“We are all about quality, whether that is service or warranty work. Our owners are the ones who work on the boat, and we stand behind our work,” said Chandler.
With that goal in mind, there is a reason that they choose to sell Bass Cat boats, and they are very successful at it. “Bass Cat is the only brand of bass boats that we sell because they are the only ones who fulfilled our requirements from a boat brand. They are the only boat that is completely fiberglass, the Pierce family has been running it since the beginning, and their whole approach is quality first,” he said. “They stand behind their product and work as we do.”
Boatmasters is the only Bass Cat dealership in California, and they focus solely on that brand. Their dedication has earned the business of countless loyal Bass Cat owners on the West Coast.

The Bass Cat Difference
As Chandler mentions, Bass Cat does things their way, and building the best possible boat is their mission. Chandler has personally run several different models and added that there are a few key things that make Bass Cat the boat they are.
“One key is the dash on the console is all fiberglass. This makes it more solid than injection molded products that will start to come loose and rattle over time,” he said.
Bass Cat also builds their boat differently with a custom one-piece stringer assembly. “They lay the stringers and runners into wet fiberglass, and use vacuum pumps to suck them tight to cure. Some other boats use weights to cure, and that can lead to uneven distribution,” said Chandler of Bass Cat’s process that was designed for durability and performance. Bass Cat also has a lifetime warranty that is fully transferable to future owners.

Completely Custom and Personalized
Purchasing a new boat is a significant expense, and there are generally plenty of things to consider. From the boat brand, size, outboard, electronics, and even the colors. Boatmasters takes the time to sit down with customers and customize the boat exactly to their liking.
“We go over the colors, the seats, and everything about the boat. We are completely custom and will spend the time to make sure it is exactly the right boat for you and that it is the boat that you want,” added Chandler.

Three Hot Bass Cat Models
Chandler shares that Bass Cat has been adding some newer models in recent years and updating them along the way. The Caracal, Lynx, and Jaguar are three that he pointed out as hot commodities now.
- Caracal - The Caracal is a re-design of a previous version that now features a wider beam and ample storage space. “The popularity and what anglers want are wider decks and the Caracal is a 19’8” boat with a 96” beam. This gives it plenty of room up front, and you can still fit it inside of a standard garage,” said Chandler.
- Lynx - The Lynx has a similarly sized beam as the Caracal but in a bigger package. “It is 20’8” and has excellent performance,” added Chandler. “Plus, it has an ungodly amount of storage.”
- Jaguar -This is Bass Cat’s newest offering, a 22’ boat that Chandler says performs and drives like a smaller boat. “The layout is great, and it has a massive amount of storage. Even though it is a big boat, it drives and performs like a 19 or 20’ boat,” said Chandler. “The weight and hull were developed with a purpose so that it doesn’t drive like a barge, which most big boats do. The holeshot and performance are like they are on smaller boats, and it is something you truly have to drive to experience."
Demo Rides
Boatmasters is happy to arrange a demo ride of the Jaguar or any Bass Cat model for that matter so that you can see for yourself. They received the first Jaguar on the west coast, and it quickly sold, but more will be on the way.
They are also involved with many popular tournaments in California and have boats on-site to test drive. “We will be at all of the BBT events and some of the specialty tournaments. I will have my Lynx there this year and will have Pro-Staff members with other models as well,” said Chandler.
