Report: Ventura bass club had a night tournament at Irvine just to change it up. Started at 6pm and went to 2am. At first there was a lot fo boats everywhere - and the bite was a little slow. Caugth a couple dropshoting rock bluffs with oxblood 6". Caugth a couple on spinnerbait before dark - dinks. Once it got dark the bite came on. We ended up catching 30+ bass mostly 1.10lbs and a couple over 2lbs. We caught most on Norman crankbaits in Dark blue w/ flake or dark red w/ flake on the left bank coming out of the marnia. We would fish all the way down to the damn then go back the other direction. After midnight found a great bite on buzzbait on the bank near the fence post area. THey were just slamming it - black or white - didn't matter what color buzz.

    Water Temp: 51

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Making my normal Socal journey Irvine was beutiul on this day around 70 degrees. No ish on my customized loat-cat. Used my normal 6"rebel but no luck. I've heard o big ish coming rom this place but all I got was 4 hours o sunshine. I imagine that this lake must have great topography below the surace because visibly it is just a muddy bowl. Water temp was a guess since I went to Corona the next day with a sonar.
    City: vallejo

Tips: I you want to catch nothing, go to Corona this time o the year, much prettier.

Report: Fishing or trout was a little slow, with most rainbows taken on Lemon lime powerbait along the west bank. Water level is med-high right now, but west bank is accessable by oot. Limited out by 11Am (started at 6). Bass ishing was a no-go - most likely a little early in the season. Nice size trout catch though. Stick to the trout or now, as bass should become active by Mid March.
