Westernbass Magazine, Summer 2023
Hi All, Isn’t it ironic! The water levels have come up and the bass within the fisheries don’t seem to know how to act! The erratic bites, lack of giant pre-spawner photos, blanking boats and less than typical tournament weights for the season are leaving many of us scratching our heads. Many – but not all! Ken Mah for one seems to have figured something out and that something earned him over $125,000 in the inaugural Western Bass Shootout. Congratulations Ken! What an event that was and we can only expect it to improve! The Western Bass Shootout win earned Ken his third cover on WesternBass Magazine. A first for us! A well-deserved accomplishment for Ken. As we progress into summer, we are already near the six-hour tournament requirement of California, and the annual ICAST show – things we all know and expect, but what about something new? For 2023 there will be a new Outdoor Show on the block and it’s happening this fall. We will have more info soon. In the meantime, good luck with that summer topwater bite, the frog tournaments, and the final events of your tournament circuits. Fall TOC’s are just around the corner. Tight Lines! Wayne
