I'm not to sure about Melones or mcClure but I just got back from camping at Pedro for a few days and the night fishing was great. I caught my biggest about 6lbs on a black spinnerbait with a black and blue trailer. I aslo lost a good one on a 3:16 Sidewinder in black and Silver. As far as parking your closest bet would be the Blue Oaks launch ramp at Pedro..............good luck.

In my opinion:

1. Lake Mcclure is a nice option, in the evening there has been a decent topwater bite and good jig bite. Its also very easy to navigate, even despite the high water creating some areas I've never seen flooded. a common fish is probably 2lbs.

2. Don Pedro is better for size of fish, but horrible during the day with water skiers, especially on a Saturday.

3. New Melones probably has the best camping, but man its tough fishing lately. I hear Catfish-ing is doing well and probably best crappie fishing...and trout and kokanee.
