So.. it's winter time.. I know some guys like seal skins, and wool, and I've even heard of battery powered ones.. but what is the BEST cold weather sock out there???

I really like the Thorlo socks. I stepped in the water in my tennis shoes once wearing them and an hour later my feet are dry. $10.00 a pair but they wick moisture away from your feet great and are very thick. They also have socks for all kinds of different activities, I prefer the ones for hiking and have not got athletes foot since I started wearing them. They last about 4-5 years if you wear them with shoes on.

Good wool socks, combined with Gortex shoes, are the hot setup.

Marino wool is the best. Wool is the only fabric that retains heat when wet. Plus it dries super fast. And they resist retaining odor. Thorolo socks I went through allot in the marines. As soon as you sweat, your toes get frozen and you don't know stink until you have those on all day.

Big 5 usually has the best price on Marino wool. I don't care what brand as long as there wool.

Not sure what brand , material, style or mfr is best however i do know that i bought a great pair of gloves and then socks online from the "sock company" and they are great for customer service and prices and even have some feedback on their products !
