Anyone have trouble ordering dobyns rods?

I never have. Where are you trying to order from? TW has them all in stock.

Nope. I refuse to purchase rods made in Korea

I used to call dobyns direct, now that number is no longer in service. So I called GSM outdoors and oh my gosh the hoops and hurdles to get rods ordered. I spoke to a representative and was supposed to get an email to place my order since Friday. Still haven’t received an email.

Does anyone know how their broken rod replacement is gonna work now or is it the same

The Kaden Travel Rods are also covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original owner. Replacement fees vary depending on the damaged piece of the rod and/or case.

If you need to get a replacement rod immediately for that fishing trip tomorrow, simply take the damaged rod to your local participating Dobyns Rods dealer and pay them the replacement fee detailed below. They will keep your damaged rod and give you a new, same model rod in return. No questions asked, no shipping, no waiting or wondering about warranty claim charges. This replacement is dependent on the dealer having inventory of your damaged rod model and their willingness to participate in this program.

No Hassle Replacement Policy – Through Dobyns Rods
Don’t have a local Dobyns Rods retailer? You can use the No Hassle Replacement Policy through Dobyns Rods. To save on shipping your broken rod to us, simply cut out the 6 inch logo section (example pictured below) of your rod and send it to us in a PADDED ENVELOPE with the appropriate replacement fee and return shipping detailed below.

Replacement Policy

For damages determined to be from accident, normal wear and tear, or neglect, Dobyns Rods offers a No Hassle repair and replacement policy. In the event a rod is broken, the rod owner must pay the replacement fee in order to receive a replacement rod. If we no longer offer the exact model, we will replace it with the closest comparable model from our current product line.

Replacement Fee
Colt Series: $30 + return shipping + Sales Tax. Warranty for 1 year from date of purchase.
Maverick Series: $40 + return shipping + Sales Tax. Warranty for 1 year from date of purchase.
Fury Series: $50 + return shipping + Sales Tax.
Kaden, Sierra, Sierra Ultra Finesse Casting Series, Sierra Trout and Panfish Series, SAM, Sierra Micro, Savvy or Savvy Micro Guide Series:$60 + return shipping + Sales Tax.
Kaden Travel Series: $80 + return shipping + Sales Tax.
Coalition Weapon Series (will be replaced with a Sierra Series): $60 + return shipping + Sales Tax.
Champion Series and Mike Bucca Bull Shad Series and Hyperlite Series with Josh Jones: $70 + return shipping + Sales Tax.
Champion Extreme Series: $80 + return shipping + Sales Tax.
Xtasy Series: $125 + return shipping + Sales Tax.

Repair/Replacement Part Policy – Josh Jones Hyperlite Tip Section
Replacement tip sections can be ordered by calling 877-269-8490. The replacement cost of the tip section is $20 plus return shipping charge of $30 + tax if applicable. Use the part #’s below that correspond to your Josh Jones rod model when ordering tip sections:

JJ10-2CR = DOB-TIPJJ10-2MC

JJ11-2CR = DOB-TIPJJ11-2MC

JJ12-2CR = DOB-TIPJJ12-2MC

JJ14-2CR = DOB-TIPJJ14-2MC

Upgrade Policy

We value our loyal Dobyns Rods customers. Any Dobyns Rods can be upgraded to a model of your choosing, whether broken or not. The upgrade policy is limited to the Colt Series, Maverick Series, Fury Series, Sierra Series, Sierra Micro Series, Savvy Series, Savvy Micro Series, Champion Series and Champion Extreme Series only.

Upgrade a Broken Rod to a Rod in a Different Series
You will receive a credit to use towards an upgraded model equal to the retail price of your current model less the replacement fee for that model.

Please download the Dobyns Warranty Form and select “Warranty Upgrade” then list the rod you would like to upgrade and the model you would like to receive back. Print and send page 1 of the warranty form back with the logo section of your broken rod. You will be contacted for payment of the upgrade, return shipping and taxes once your package arrives.



REEL WARRANTY
Dobyns reels are covered by a Limited 1 Year Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. GSM Outdoors will replace your reel if a defect is found in workmanship or materials for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty is limited to the original owner and purchase receipt is required to file a warranty claim for Dobyns Reels. To start a warranty claim, please call 877-269-8490.

That's because GSM laid off the entire original Dobyns warehouse in Texas a couple months ago - after Gary promised everybody that nothing would change after the acquisition and that the same old-time employees at his warehouse would still be answering your phones. Just another story of what happens when a venture capital firm acquires a family company.
