Is this supposed to be a 50-boat field?

At some point it will be capped at 50 or 60 once it’s built to that. They didn’t work down the field this year, so it appears that only the top 10 are being invited. They aren’t in a rush to get it to 50. We’ve had some anglers withdraw due to moving outta state, medical issues, family and other personal reasons.

As long as it doesn’t affect your payouts too negatively I respect the fact they didn’t go down the list. You should qualify to be in or not be in. Thanks Ken!

WWBT /Apex has never released the payout ? and from what I hear the competitors were told not to discuss it ? why would anyone bother to qualify if you don’t know what the payout is ?

100% at ramp
1 in 2 payback
Top 30 qualify for championship winner wins fully rigged boat/engine
Same 1 in 2 payback.
Equates to 180% payback
When you qualify they give you everything you need.

We are trying to build something different, it is so much more than just the payout, entry fees etc.

Many can take your entry fee, keep some of your money, and pay it back. We have been doing that for decades and nothing significant has changed with that model. Fishing payouts will NEVER sustain your career.

The west needs a base level of anglers who are able to obtain some endorsement partnerships who rely on the platform and the media to earn that money. It’s a starting point or we’ll keep doing what we have always done.

Thank you for your interest and if you really want to try to qualify, DM me your number and I will call you to answer all of your questions.

Respectfully

I see you are currently in 3rd AOY, if it’s your goal to qualify for the Westernbass Shootout and APEX, I hope to see you accept it. As a competitor, I want the best anglers in the field who can also represent their partners and our sport. You have always done that.
