Looks like having tournaments with bass boats just became a little harder to have now.
Summer time traffic might be void and nill if this is the way they are going to run there lake. Now there going to have to raise fee to get in to cover cost for extra man power and money they will lose when people wont show because of the inspections on there boats. And that's just the first northern ca lake to fall stay tuned folks.

Camanche just did the same. State Quagga sticker money should pay for decontamination stations

Berryessa does not have an operational decontamination station. They said you can get the boat decontaminated at Lake Tahoe and return to Berryessa

SO, if a decontamination is required, then they should have a station ON SITE !!! I'm not driving to Tahoe just so I can launch at Berryessa !!

Just saw Berryessa is now scheduling decontamination starting 12/5. But can’t get a appointment earlier than 9 am. Ridiculous. All tournament boats will have to go day before or a month before to get a band.

They probably won’t have many tournaments there anymore if any.

How does it work there? Do you need a decontamination each time?
It should be free. Where are the funds from the stickers going

They tag your boat on the way out. If the tag is intact you're good to launch. If the tag is broken then decontaminat, pay and launch.

How long does a decontamination take?
Can you show up in the morning get a decontamination and be fishing in less than an hour?

The actual process is maybe 15-20 minutes. This was for my son's day cruiser with a jet drive. So no live Wells etc.
I would think that a tournament situation you would want to get it done ahead of time or you could be there a while.
Until they get there decon equipment on site we really don't know how it's going to play out.

Seem we get screwed. Why don’t they decontaminate the ships that bring the mussels here?
I mean if the problem really is as bad as they say why do they allow it to happen again?

Funding should be used to get boaters back on the water with as little inconvenience as possible. Free 24/7 decontamination stations and seals for return launches. Exempting kayaks from inspections does not make any sense . Making rules that can’t be followed by certain groups is exclusion! I don’t think it is appropriate to turn lake Berryessa into an exclusive day use only lake !

From the announcement: "Upon exit from the Lake, all vessels must have a GREEN seal attached by authorized staff to be allowed to freely launch at Lake Berryessa. Otherwise, the vessel will need to undergo another quarantine period or decontamination"
So, if you fish the evening, I bet your screwed. Can't imagine they will stick around and take care of all the boats fishing until dark.

That is exactly how it worked when I was as at pardee
Only at pardee there was no 30 day or decontamination. Just had to be sure and be clean and dry next time and get the 3 minute 🧐 inspection

I bet if you let the people who run each lake time to figure out a plan of attack it will be taken care of very quickly. Dont worry the cost will be passed on to you as part of the gate fees or launch fee and extra fee if you have and annual pass.
