Tandem axel jacks

Post by Fast Eddie »

Got a flat yesterday (9 month old tires  ). I have an old drive up half circle I had for my 396, but it looks like its too small for the axel. What jack do you guys carry and do you need a riser for a hydraulic?

This is the easiest way to go with tandem axles. You can make your own with 2x6 lumber stacked together. All i ever used on tandem axles. I have a single axel trailer now and keep a cheap Harbor Freight bottle jack in the truck.

I don't have a tandem axel but I've helped out a couple of guys with flat tires that have tandem axels. I went to a local junk yard and got a scissor jack from a wrecked car for $5. It folds nice and flat, stores in my front tackle compartment.

Good suggestion and the link to Amazon is helpful.

Thanks Guys,
Went with the ramp and battery powered impact wrench. Worked like a charm. Now I need some muscle to lift the spare onto the spare tire rack. :D
