Report: Crater Bass held a club event on crane prairie this weekend. 10 boats fished the event and 18 fish were caught. Mostly on soft plastics in coves and creek arms. Average fish weight as about 2.5 lbs with a few over 4 lbs weighed in. Fish were not spawning yet and we did not notice any signs of active fish on beds. Most fish came off structure in about 6 feet of water. The bite was slow and you really had to work the bait to get a bite. |
Tips: Fish slow and have patients. when the water worms up, the fishing will be better. It is definitely a pre spawn pattern now. Reaction baits did not work. all fish came off grubs and worms. |

Report: Opening weekend, clear, 60 degees outside. Fished from about 7am till noon. Caught 2 nice 4lb largemouths in the main arm leading into the damn. Had another fish aprox 6lbs follow my swim bait right to the boat. 2 bites 2 fish! Great day for the first day on the water! |
Tips: Fish are stacked up in the main body and not back in the shallows yet! Staging in deep water 10-15' off main points and near channels. |
