Woodward Reservoir is located approximately 10 miles north of Oakdale at an elevation of 210 feet in rolling grassy Stanislaus County foothills.

The lake has a shoreline of 23 miles and a surface area of 2,900 acres with many coves and inlets.

There are 195 improved camping sites suitable for both tents and RV's as well as over 1,000 acres for primitive camping.

All boating is permitted as well as jet skis, water skiing, and swimming.
