Brownlee Reservoir is located on the Oregon-Idaho border on the mighty Snake River and is part of the Hell Canyon National Recreational Area. Brownlee Reservoir is the first of three dams along the Snake River.

The reservoir has a surface acreage of over 15,000 acres.

Smallmouth bass fishing is the available to the angler. Also present in the lake are crappie ,blue gill, perch and channel catfish fishing. The state record Flathead catfish, White Crappie came from Brownlee.
