7th Annual "Club Classic"
7th Annual "Club Classic"
The Club Classic is back!
This year we are opening up the Club Classic to every legitimate Western Bass Club to include Float Tubers and Kick Boat fishermen Clubs. We want your Top 12 anglers--six
teams--to come to the California Delta on October 15, 2011, out of Russo's Marina in Bethel Island, CA and compete for the title of "Best Bass Club in
the West". Help us - to one day make "The Club Classic" one of the biggest
bass fishing events of the year for Clubs.
We strive to put on an event that is fun, builds camaraderie, and brings
pride to "belonging to a club". We are continuing the tradition of the last 6 years and we want your club to join us in the excitement of building the Club Classic.
With the economy as it is the cost will stay the same as the last three years - $ 60.00 per person totaling $720.00 per club, 6 boats per club with a two-person team in each boat. Tubing Clubs will be 12 tubes per club with two tubes as a team. 100% of the fees collected will go back to the clubs minus the BBQ and trophies. T-Shirts will be again offered at our cost.
As the many clubs from past years will attest, the highlight of the event will be the meal presented by WAAZUU BBQ along with the award presentation and raffle.
Try not to be the one club that had to hear it from your friends about how good the event was "you should have been there"!!!
The rules and registration forms are located on the Delta Bass Club Web Site. So at your next club meeting be sure to put the Club Classic on your agenda and plan on coming out and having what is sure to be a great time!

Re: 7th Annual "Club Classic"
Does your Club have what it takes to put your Club’s Name on this Trophy?

Re: 7th Annual "Club Classic"
That's an awesome looking trophy.
Re: 7th Annual "Club Classic"
Marty, can you elaborate on how the non-powered boats (yaks, tubes etc...) would work out?
Re: 7th Annual "Club Classic"
How are preparations for the big event coming Marty??

First, the Delta Bass Club wanted to make sure all clubs are welcome to the Club Classic to include non-powered boats (belly boats and yaks).
Second, is the safety of all concern (boats and non-powered boats), we want to have fun without putting anyone in danger or peril. We made the rules as comment-scene as practical.
Third, There was a lot of discussion about belly boat club coming in and putting a real whipping all of the other Clubs – but we can handle it, it they can come on out.
Basically, two non-powered boats equals one powered boat. Since the longest bass boat is about 21 to 22 feet long, two non-powered boats will be a team as if they are in one powered boat. They have to stay within 21 feet of each other (no we are not going to tie a 21 foot rope to each of you) during the tournament. It is called faith and integrity that each will stay within 21 feet of each other – we are here to have fun. Each team of two non-powered boats will have to work together to make sure they bring in only 5 fish limit and not go over that limit (California fishing rules). You will have to talk to each other throughout the day. The hard part comes when you have your 5 fish limit and have cull between the two non-powered boats - LOL.
You will have to go through the same pre-inspection as the power boats, ie, check live wells (sacks in your case) and make sure you have life jackets (Coast Gured approved). Non like the power boats you will have to have your life jacket on at all times – I believe you do that anyway. We will not be inspecting lights or kill switches. You will blast off at the same time as everyone else – we don’t have to worry about you going over the 5 mile limit - LOL. When you send in your roster of the top 12 fishing the Club Classic make sure you list who will be pair up together. It looks like we will have three flight and each Club will have two teams in each flight. At blast off I invasion you will stay to the side (long the docks) going down Taylor.
Off limits will be the same as all other clubs and you will have to be back (check-in) as the fight you are assigned too. All other rules are the same. If you have a question please let me know.

Re: 7th Annual "Club Classic"
John the preparations are going well, currently we have the follow Clubs that will be fishing and that is just as many as we had last year. Not bad for the times with the economy and all.SKTR 20i wrote:How are preparations for the big event coming Marty??
John.
Yes
1. Delta Bass Club
2. BANC
3. Bass Busters of Santa Clara
4. Bass Classics of Santa Clara Valley
5. Fresno Bass Club
6. 17/90 Bass Club
7. Sacramento Bass Wranglers
May be
8. Basin Bassmaster
9. Bass –n- Tubes
10. Clearlake Bassmasters
We are getting ready to make the order for T-Shirts (this year they are going to be bad @ss).

Re: 7th Annual "Club Classic"
Marty, thanks for the explanation, that's cool. I think the non-powered guys have a real good chance kicking powered boaters' butts, they can get into places boaters can only dream about and that's where the big ones are.
A few clubs I've talked to that don't fish the delta much have raised concerns about how they may be at a disadvantage fishing against delta rats. Please post an explanation about how that's hardly the case.
Another question I was asked more than a few times is the payout schedule, it would be great if you can elaborate on this topic in another post too, so everyone is clear on that as well.

Re: 7th Annual "Club Classic"
Tell that to the Fresno Bass Club or the Sacramento Bass Wranglers both are not delta rats. Go to http://www.deltabassclub.com/id13.html and look up the wrights from pass events. Real delta rats get those weights in two or three limits where it takes us 6 limits. This is an open tournament that any club can win on any given day. The idea is to come on out and have fun, eat some of the best WAAZUU BBQ, and make friends with the other clubs – if by chance you get a few more oz’s then your club wins.jloo283 wrote: A few clubs I've talked to that don't fish the delta much have raised concerns about how they may be at a disadvantage fishing against delta rats. Payout is 100% of the funds received minus what it cost to put on the event. We give everything back to the clubs and The Delta Bass Club keep nothing. We have to pay for BBQ and trophies and the rest goes into 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize money. I would give you the amounts but I don’t have the complete number of clubs that are going to sign up as of yet. After the event if any club wishes to review the books they are more than welcome.jloo283 wrote: Another question I was asked more than a few times is the payout schedule, it would be great if you can elaborate on this topic in another post too, so everyone is clear on that as well.
If fact the Club Classic committee wants to make sure that all of the funds get back to the clubs – the Delta Bass Club is taking the risk on buying the T-Shirt and selling them at cost back to anyone that wants one. Last year we just broke even – hoping we can do it again.

Re: 7th Annual "Club Classic"
Marty, is the BBQ available for family members that may want to attend the weigh-in also? How much will it be and what is included? Thanks.
Re: 7th Annual "Club Classic"
The time is near for the Club Classic
Need all of the clubs that are going to join in on the fun this 15 Oct Club Classic to send in their Club registration and roster who is going to fish the Classic. Also make out checks to the Delta Bass Club for the entry fee. Go to http://deltabassclub.com/index.html for the registration form.
When completed please send to:
Delta Bass Club
P.O. Box 217
Oakley CA, 94561
Please note at the bottom of the Roster of Anglers form is a place to list the number of additional BBQ Tickets your club will need. It is 300% better to get your additional BBQ Tickets now then to wait until the day of the Classic. $5 dollars compared to $15 dollars. We offer the low cost to make sure we get a good head count of those that will be eating at the BBQ.
Again, this year we will be offering Club Classic T-Shirts for $12 each. The T-Shirts will be black long sleeve “Gildan 2400 6.1 oz 100% cotton with Lime Green full logo on the back, small logo on the front left chest, and the pass winners and year on the right sleeve. The T-shirts look good this year!!! See attached photos.
Also we will need to have each angler fishing the Classic sign the “Release Form”, so each club should have 12 each release forms. See attached form.
Go to http://deltabassclub.com/index.html for the release form.
When filling out your club roster, list your 12 angler with who they will be partner up with and what flight you want them to go into. There will be three flights with each club having two boats per flight. List your angler as you wish them to go out and come in each flight. The only thing that will be drawn is the order of the clubs. Let’s say your club is the first drawn then you would have the first and last boat in each flight. If your club is the second drawn you will have the second and second to last boat in each flight. If your club is the last one drawn you will have the two middle boats in each flight.
We would like to have everything back to us by the 30 September – if you can’t make it by then give us a call.
If you have any question please give me (925 858-4467) or Ronnie VanAirsdale (510 774-5380) a call.
