crucial warranty

Post by MikeD »

snapped a tip below the 3rd guide on my crucial CRC-C72MH, how do I go about getting the rod taken care of under warranty?

You can send the rod to us for warranty replacement. We will allow you to cut the rod in half to avoid oversize shipping charges. Send the rod to:

Do you have a tracking number for the rod? Send me a PM with your info and I will pass it onto the rod warranty department. They have a lost and found area so we can locate it.

They do - You just have to pay for the shipping of your broken rod back. $15- $20 depending on the dealers store.
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

When I bought mine I was told it was an over the counter exchange warranty. No cost about shipping or anything else was brought up. That's one of the reasons I bought it.

I was also warned that this might take place, but there shouldn't be a charge.

What say you?

Cause my favorite light rod exploded on me Saturday and would like it exchanged, the way I was told it would happen.

The OTC warranty is honored by participating dealers. They should not be charging anyone for return shipping because we either reimburse the dealer for shipping, or we do what is called a field destroy. The dealer is in no way out any money when they replace one of our rods under warranty for our customers. We simply cannot force them to not charge you. They usually will call it some other thing like a restocking fee or some similar creative wording.

If they give you any issues send the rod to us. It will be cheaper than paying the dealer the $15-20 charge I keep hearing about. We allow you to cut the rod in half to avoid oversize shipping charges.

Things went well because of your note. I appreciate it.

$15 ain't a big deal, until you're out of work trying to stretch every penny.

It's also a matter of principle.
