May/June was the last issue they put out in 2008. Several changes happened since. The editor left the book, the art director was gone also and the magazine was in limbo until I came on board.

Jan/Feb began mailing the first week of January and that process goes on for sometime, as any magazine publisher can tell you. Might take up to a month to get the book and that's out of the hands of the publisher and all that work on the book and is strictly in the hands of the postal service.

The Mar/Apr book is in production now and should begin mailing the final week of February. Folks wanting more information can always contact me and get real answers to sometimes hard but honest questions.

Thanks to all,

Tony,

I got my issue at the ISE and saw your name on the editor staff, good move! Not that the magazine was not worth waiting for, now it really is!

So Basswest just skipped Nov/Dec. Now we get 5 issues a year. I can only hope that sTony can make this fine magazine right. They seem to always be going through "changes". One of these times they will get everything right.

I signed up for a year and as I see it they have not delivered all my copies that I paid for. It will be interesting to see if I get all my issues that I'm entitled.

The current staff is working to get six issues a year out. Jan/Feb shipped in Jan so it's a start in the right direction.

Rick,

You should get six issues before the system asks you to renew your subscription.

If this is the case, how do I get my Sports Illustrated like clockwork every week? Does the publisher of SI pay a premium to the USPS? or is BassWest low man on the postal service's delivery schedule? If each mag is at the mercy of the postal service, I think you(Basswest) are getting screwed...

SI is sending out a LOT more books then we are so yes they do get a priority delivery and a better price to mail as well. The USPS makes it a bit easier on those that are grinding out 23 million copies a week.

Congratulations sTony on the new job and best wishes to BassWest. I have picked up the magazine a few times but have been discouraged to subscribe many times by the trials this company has endured. It looks like the magazine is in good hands and on it's way to a successful future. I hope to soon be one of the happy readers.

I can't tell if you have a subscription or a membership to AC that gets you a subscription. Your email has one name and your user ID another. Either way you're not in any of the databases at the office. Maybe send me your real ID in a PM and I can figure out whether or not you should be getting the book or not. :)

sTony,
How did they ever pick a guy for an editor who can't read????
Ha, ha, just funnin'.
I'm sure the magazine is in good hands now.
Is that nice woman still there in customer service who always gets back to me when I have a problem? I don't remember her name, but in the last few years, every time I've had a problem, she's fixed it pronto.

Good luck with this endeavor. Hopefully you will get this magazine up and running efficiently. On the bright side, you don't have to do much to out do past performance as it has been a joke from an editorial and delivery standpoint.

So sTony, does this mean that Jamie is no longer the editor of the mag? As a writer for the mag, it's interesting I didn't find out about this if it's true. Send me a PM if you want.

The story I got was they went thru a re-organization and only produced 3 issues in 2008. Instead of trying to play catch-up in 2008 they decided to start fresh for 2009. The latest issue (Jan/Feb) was mailed Monday the 12th. What I want to know is what they are going to do to compensate us for the issues we missed out on in ’08.

Subscriptions are being extended out the number of issues missed. If you signed up for a one year subscription you'll still receive 6 issues.

You already know the story, trying to play catch up would have just put the 2009 issues far behind and resulted in rushed, half-baked, poor quality magazines that you'd likely still have every right to be maybe even more upset about.
