Art...I also grew up fishing the back lakes as well, we lived close enough where I could ride my bike there in about 15 min. Used to fish it 2-4 times a week with kast masters, hula poppers and thin fin crank baits mostly.

It's been a while.....I remember him from early/mid 90's back in the Hook Line and Sinker at Big Break days when he worked at the tackle shop and was involved with the Cameron Rods pro staff. His chili and deep fried turkey for the Hook TOC's was great.....

he makes the best spinnerbaits I've tried for the delta and clear lake, check them out for yourelf at the Hook, Line and Sinker.
I use 1/2 oz. with double willow blades most of the time, the color will depend on water clarity and if it's cloudy or sunny. Stick with the basics......

They also have to take into account that people need the flexibility to use the reels with lines ranging in different sizes and diameters. A few things come to mind.... 1. I agree with Mike....change to min 50 pound braid. I use 50 pound in open water and 65 pound in the weeds. I saw 6-8 fish on beds last weekend with bluegills all aroung them. These fish were 2-4 pounds each and one may have went around 5 pounds. Sounds like their up all over the delta. Very interesting....
