San V sees a couple once in awhile, too, but they haven't taken off there- I'd think they would with the shad and deeper water

San V will be closed at least that long for the dam work, too. Hope GK is right about Elsinore, we're going to need it.
How sick will San V be when it's a whole new big lake? That will be interesting.

Stoked to have BPS in SoCal, just don't ask an employee for a Swarming Hornet, the guys were cool but they had no clue what I was talking about. Still a great place to shop, the paddies hanging from the ceiling with forks and a fat checker were cool.

nice fork! Did you go towards LJ? The Nados was a great place to hang out with sea lions Monday, heard Bird Rock was good. Burned way too much gas Monday down around the 425 out to the 371, up to the 302 for nada, should have gone to the fly and killed the albies. :x hitting the Nados last Monday on...

I know a couple of guys who slay it with the long rod- LMB, stripers, calicos, it's a whole new world with flies- as for the regs, I think it's still an 8' limit on the rod (cause of Dee Thomas back in the day, I think?), I don't think fly fishing would DQ you- I want to check out Spro's float fly r...

Re: 5 Fish limit for Lake McClure, Ca
McClure is a really fun lake- really good spider jig bite for me in June, Texas rigged 8" worm killed too when the bite got tough- way more LMB there now then I've seen before- fish deep with the 3/4 or 1 oz jig for the fat spots- You're doing pretty well with 11 or 12 IMHO, I got 13 1/2 on the...

843 has worked well for me up to 3/4 oz, I need an 844 for the 1 oz stuff- fishing spider jigs and jigs on 12-15 lb. flouro - no problems with the 843 so far, but an 844 would be a better stick for even the 3/4 oz stuff IMHO- shoots, wouldn't hate it for the 1/2 oz jig- trying to cross their eyes on...

works at McClure, fished it on 4 lb. Sunline, with the Yamamoto 4" cut tail worm- seems like it creates the natural fall of a senko if you ask me- both ends wagging as it sinks or you shake it- they eat it on the sink like a senko

probably 5 each on lighter line, harder to twist it and make it work with heavier line. As long as it looks snug and pretty after its cinched up and clipped so it flows through the guides, you're good- it won't break. I'f you're drag is set wrong, the knot is the least of your worries!!
