looks like the Garmin 73SV is being replaced by 73SV-pro
my timing is always off. my crappy fish finder broke on my kayak and I am hoping to buy a new one. I homed in on the 73sv. seems to check all the boxes and comes with lake-maps. it is no longer available. I can find plenty of 74sv units combos for $600. add the map package for an additional $150. le...

My fish finder broke. I’m ordering a new one tomorrow. I was a savage and had to use my paddle to probe for depths. Nevertheless, I found them. I got five, for just about a 20lb bag. I got 10 days to fish a lot! Miss you honey!

how do we define the CA Delta regions.?
I hear terms thrown around. Central Delta, North Delta, South Delta. the "river". is there a map the kinda defines the borders of each area? Frank's Tract is Central? and River: Sacramento River? San J River? I'm typically a Clearlake guy, and the Delta is relatively new for me. I am going...

Rough week. Decided to hit the Delta tomorrow
My Kayak cracked and a new warranty hull is on the way. I’m gonna tape the cracks and try the Delta. (Tiny cracks) Like always I throw up a map. I live in Santa Rosa, so any Delta launch is a journey. Tomorrow is good weather, decent tides. Being do early in the season I’m gonna fish some deadend sl...

question about boat launches at Tournaments.
I fish out of a kayak, but I have a friend with a BassBoat. I often asks him why we don't do a fun tournament together. maybe a windy-wednesday thing. his answer kinda shocks me. he hates and is NOT good at backing up his boat trailer. he actually never does, since he parks/stores his boat at a Delt...

Sucks. That’s my store.
How was he not successful? The shop guys stopped him?
Shoplifting has been happening forever. Brazen stuff. I saw this as a kid at my parents store. In Texas.
I didn’t blame the Texas governor at the time.

I'm impressed with how the Mussels actually hasn't full on invaded our lakes. I keep my kayak spotless and dry. in between trips I run a small fan inside the hull to really dry it out. the moving air helps. I have been inspected many many times, and having a clean boat really abbreviates the experie...

there really is just a couple "rules of engagement" Be Prepared and honest. Be polite and patient. I read a bunch of online horror stories. trust me when I say, my hands were sweaty walking into the DMV. my good friend paid $400 to register his Hobie ProAngler. he had to go back and forth ...

found some surprisingly good braid scissors today.
doing some grocery shopping, I noticed a box of small scissors in a box. they were $6. I grabbed a pair, noting the serrated blade. "hmmm...could cut braid!" I got home and tied an Alberto knot. the scissors are so dang sharp!! my Cuda's are sharp, but not like these. 100% slack line braid...

that "other" thread compelled me to go with one of the more vibrant heavy hitter battery companies. for a hundred bucks more, it seemed like it was worth saving me the grief. I think grief is priceless (in a bad way).
no thanks.
good luck OP. hope you get it settled.

Newport Vessels and/or Torqueedo users. A question.
How do you all manage the pull lines during storage and moving the kayak? You unhook caribiners from the motor, pull motor off, set it in the truck…. What do you do with the pull cords? Roll it all up and do what with it? It’s running thru those fixed eyelets so they are not coming off the kayak rig...

I have had great warranty service from Shimano. but for regular maintenance, I use others. I've used REEX-X but he told me he was retiring, so I figured I may as well find another dude. I went with DVT. what I got back was magic. I wanted to run inside the house to toast some bread, because what I h...

The water is going south as that's where the votes are. Very little that we can do about it. He can care less what we think or the impact it will have on the Delta. Just another lousy politician and I'm speaking of the Governor if you didn't get my drift. So much for all his environmental BS talk. ...
