Cage in Delta?

Post by fishnguy2009 »

Hey Guys,

Saw this in White's Slough on Friday and had to do a u-turn and take a double look! Does anybody know what it is? It's about the size of a coffee table. Hopefully not someone's past honey hole....

Some people who live on the Delta like to eat fish (go figure :D )
Some of these people use cages to keep the fish alive for a few days to 'cleanse' them, before they eat them.
That could be what that cage was used for, but on this site most folks immediately assume that it was someone using it to cheat in a tournament. It's a much more exciting thread than just assuming that there isn't anything nefarious going on.
Just sayin,

My buddy made an interesting comment: If you zoom in you can notice the holes are drilled out one by one because they are not uniform like from a factory. In other words this was man made and doesn't seem like a prefabricated screen cover you might buy from a store?

just spent a week at Grand Lake OK. saw dozens of "cages" like this all over the lake. Locals catch crappie and load up their cage until they have enough for a huge meal. Very common in some parts.
