COUSINS TACKLE ANNOUNCES PRICE REDUCTIONS FOR EVERY ONE OF ITS TOP QUALITY, AMERICAN-MADE FISHING RODS

Factory Efficiency and Inventory Pave Way For Retail Price Cuts as Much as 33%, Giving Anglers Another Big Reason to Choose Cousins Quality Over Imported Rods

August 18, 2014 -- Cousins Tackle Corp. has announced dramatic retail price reductions across its full family of top quality, American-made fishing rods designed and manufactured in the company’s state-of-the-art factory in Huntington Beach, California.   Effective immediately, authorized Cousins dealers nationwide will be selling Cousins’ 300-plus rod models at retail prices that are as much as 33-percent lower than before.

Whether fishermen need an ultra light trout stick, high-modulus bass rod, specialized Florida inshore rod, or a powerful tool for beating bluefin and billfish, they can now find a finely tuned, hand-built Cousins rod model that will fit their budget, as well as their needs.

“It’s taken about 18 months, but we’re now at the point where our factory is complete, we have sufficient inventory and we’re ideally staffed with highly trained personnel,” said Cousins Tackle CEO Bill Buchanan.   “Our blank building and rod finishing processes are operating at peak efficiency, and this has allowed us reduce our prices for customers.  We have always prided ourselves on beating ‘high-end’ imported fishing rods in every quality detail — from our blanks and components to the handcrafted care we put into each rod.  Now, we can flat-out beat them on price, as well,” added Buchanan.

Cousins is discounting every rod family its line, including the recently introduced, affordably priced Raze Rod series for trout, bass, steelhead, salmon, surf fishing and inshore.   These rods will now retail for MAP (Minimum Advertised Prices) as low as $109.    Cousins’ extensive family of IM-8 Graphite bass rods includes models for every style of fishing, with new MAP prices starting at $148 (previously $215). The Gregg Silks Signature Series of big bass specialty rods will now begin at under $190 MAP (previously $275).

The company’s premium XF Series Inshore rods will also sell for reduced MAP prices beginning at $220 (previously $330).    Cousins’ just launched Classic Fiberglass Saltwater Rod Series will now carry MAP pricing starting at $167, instead of the previous $250.

Cousins Florida A1A Series of Graphite Saltwater Rods, specially designed for Florida inshore anglers with help from snook expert and fishing legend Dave Justice, will now be offered at MAP pricing starting at $134 (previously $200).

These are just selected examples of price reductions that Cousins has made from the top to the bottom of its line.  “We haven’t changed anything about our products except the price tag — every Cousins rod begins with a blank crafted in our own factory and finished with the finest components.   Our dealers are very excited about this development as well, and are looking forward to getting Cousins rods into the hands of more customers with the help of our more affordable pricing,” said Buchanan.
